Wax Museum in Rome

Every major city normally has its own wax museum, and Rome is no exception. The only difference is who each museum chooses to immortalize in wax. Making the list in Rome today: Michelangelo, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Pope Benedict XVI, Benito Mussolini and several others…including President Barack Obama, who looks way too skinny for me! Let’s see what happens after this year’s election.

Rome's Birthday Weekend

It’s hard to believe, but this weekend is Rome’s 2,765th birthday! Wow…still looking good after all these years. Happy to be here to help celebrate your very special day!

Broccoletti in Piazza

Broccoletti in Piazza Broccoletti in Piazza

Who knew that something as simple as broccoli would have so many out and about on a beautiful spring-like day in Italy? But that’s exactly what happened this weekend. The tiny lake town of Anguillara Sabazia hosted its annual “Broccoletti in Piazza” event. The menu was basic yet so GOOD! Broccoletti, Italian sausage, pasta with broccoletti, bread, water and wine for 10 Euros a plate. All proceeds help local farmers sell their harvest. Plus proceeds from anyone who bought broccoletti to take home went to local charity. The event was a huge success thanks to all the volunteers whose passion and love to keep up with the demand was clearly shown with a smile.

To be honest, I couldn’t believe the turn out for such a simple dish. However, moments like these make me fall in love with Italy’s simplicity and respect for what the land produces all over again!

(Don’t forget, you can view more pictures from the event on our Facebook page!)

Amazing Photos of Snow in Rome

We couldn’t help but pass along some of the beautiful pictures taken by my friend and colleague, Rome Today cameraman Dominik Cira. He is super talented behind the lens! Dominik can capture the true essence of any moment and make it memorable. Thanks for always sharing your effortless talent.
